Texas homeowners losses by county

Español

When your insurance company accepts your claim, the amount they pay is called a paid loss. This webpage gives county-level paid losses for homeowners policies. Data does not include renters, condos, and dwelling policies.

A dwelling policy covers damage to the home structure only from specified perils. It’s a subset of a homeowners policy. A homeowners policy covers a package of items, including the dwelling, personal belongings, detached structures, personal liability, and loss of use.

Use the drop-down menus to select year, loss type, and county or counties. The data does not include wind or hail losses from Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA).*

If you're using a mobile phone, view in landscape mode by turning phone horizontally.

Map information

  • Heat map coloring is based on average loss per policy.

  • Paid losses: Paid loss amount for the selected calendar year and county.
  • Loss per policy: Paid loss divided by number of active policies.
